A single-family home in North Aurora that sold for $380,000 tops the list of the best real estate deals in Kane County in the past week. The property, located in the Orchard Estates subdivision, features four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and a two-car garage. It was built in 1998 and sits on a quarter-acre lot. The sale price came in slightly below the original asking price of $389,900 after just 12 days on the market.
Other notable transactions in the county included a three-bedroom ranch in Batavia that closed at $315,000. That home had been updated with a new roof and furnace within the last three years. In Geneva, a two-story colonial sold for $525,000, marking one of the higher-priced sales of the week. The property included a finished basement and a fenced backyard.
Aurora saw several closings as well. A townhouse near the west side sold for $245,000, while a smaller two-bedroom home near the river brought $187,500. In Elgin, a split-level house on the city's south side changed hands for $272,000. That sale was notable because the home had been on the market for nearly three months before receiving an offer.
Real estate agents in the area note that inventory remains tight, which continues to keep prices steady in most Kane County communities. Buyers looking for move-in ready homes in the $300,000 to $400,000 range are still facing competition, especially in school districts with strong reputations.
